Here are the winning entries in our FREE LASIK CONTEST!
Both winners will have their LASIK procedures performed live at our MAGIC LASIK Open House on October 26!
Hello,
My name is John Poe. I am 36, soon to be 37, years old. My wife told me of the chance to win a free Lasik procedure from your offices, and felt this was perfect for me. I have been wearing glasses since age 5. I am a 12 year veteran of Downriver Police Dept. Recently I found just how hindering, and dangerous glasses can become. While on the midnight shift, I was called to an area of town not known for problems. I was approached by a male, who is 6'3" 300lbs. It was later discovered that he had taken a large number or prescription and illegal narcotics, which triggered a psychotic episode, where he was intent on killing an innocent elderly man. While still in my patrol vehicle he approached and struck me, on the left side of the head. When he withdrew his hand he grabbed my glasses. Now I was, not only, facing a very large and volatile person (who felt no pain) but was hindered by the fact that I could only make out shapes in the darkness. When he was finally captured, with the help of another agency, I was left with 2 bruised ribs / ruined uniform / and glasses bent into a pretzel. Now you ask why I haven't sought the procedure on my own. I am the type of person who gives without question. I refuse to spend money on something I want, when that money could be spent on my family ( a beautiful wife who is my best friend and awesome 8 yr old twins). I do numerous charitable acts, throughout the year, in my community and never ask for a single thing in return. I am not the kind of person who looks for the glory from my acts. I am only hoping that, for once, the table could be turned something nice done for me.
Thank you for your time,
John F. Poe

Hello,
My name is Sharon Rupp. I am a 48 year old
Cancer Survivor. I live in Waterford.
Last year I was diagnosed with a rare female cancer.
Only 5% in the world have contracted it. I had 6
surgeries (3 of them quite gruesome) within 3 months
and had a reoccurrence last summer and finished my
last radiation treatment on September 8, 2004. About
a week after my completion of my radiation, my husband
became very ill and passed away on November 4, 2004.
Although I take one day at a time and get up each and
every day with a positive attitude, sometimes it's
rough. I just want to live life to the fullest.
Every day is an adventure - the sky is bluer, the
grass is greener and I cannot meet enough people in a
day!!! I have spoken with many cancer patients going
through treatments and try and give them the strength
to prevail and try and give them the will to live. I
feel so blessed that I survived. I have a beautiful
son and good health today!!!
I have not been in the dating world for over 17 years
and am quite apprehensive about this. I know we must
have self-esteem from within and looks are only skin
deep. I believe that my strength and faith is what
got me this far. However, I have always wanted to
receive Lasik Eye Surgery, because I think I would
look much better without glasses. Now, I am a single
mom, saving for my son's college, paying his
orthodontist bill, etc., I do not have a lot of extra
money me. I would love to be chosen to be your
patient at the end of October and hope I am the Chosen
One (no pun intended!!!) I look forward to hearing
from you. My email address is
smrjob_smrujob@yahoo.com. Thank you for taking the
time to read my story. Keep Smiling and Have a Great
Day!!
Sincerely,
S. Rupp
